Hummingbird Custom Bows

News, Updates and Information

Ever find yourself wondering what the brace height for your custom Hummingbird bow is? What is a brace height?

The brace height of your custom bow is the distance between the center line of your sting at the nockpoint; to the inner most curve on the grip of your palm rest of your bow while it is not drawn.

The Shorter the Brace Height, the more power and speed the arrow will have. The longer the brace height, the slower the arrow, making the shot less prone to the shooter's form errors.

Brace height on all Hummingbird bows should be 7-1/4" from throat of grip, giving a perfect balance for speed, strength, and shooting form. To adjust the brace height, just unstring your bow from one end, and twist or untwist your string to either shorten it or make it longer. **The more you twist the sting the shorter the string becomes and the longer the brace height, be sure to string the bow back and measure the brace height as you go along.

All Hummingbird bows come with tri-color TS-1 Fast Flight strings and are therefore designed for any of the newer string materials. We have found TS-1 to be the quietest new material and can be purchased from us for $15.00.
